Take a Break This Holiday Season

Take a Break This Holiday Season

Many c suite executives and company owners are guilty of never taking a break. Most take vacations and holidays, but they often still send & receive emails and phone calls relating to work.

In an article by CBNation, 15 entrepreneurs & business owners were asked how they take breaks. Their responses ranged from traveling, spending time with family, nurturing hobbies, going outside, prioritizing time better, and isolating or "going dark."

There is no one solution for everyone. What works for one may not work for the next but the key is to TAKE A BREAK. Don't wait for yourself to burn out to take time off. Set yourself up for success by considering the following:

1. Plan your schedule in advance and get your clients/customers used to how your company flows by being consistent when communicating schedule changes or out-of-office days.

2. Train employees to whom you can delegate tasks to so that you can step away without feeling that the company will suffer when you are not there.

3. Consider taking routine breaks so that you have time off to look forward to throughout the year.

4. When you plan time off, seriously commit to not working.

5. If you cannot completely unplug, only make yourself available for emergencies that cannot be handled by someone on your staff.

6. Adopt exercises or take many breaks throughout your day to give your brain a break.

An article published by wethrive states that when we are overworked, our productivity suffers. Our mental health suffers, and we tend to adopt unhealthy habits. Do yourself a favor and take the time [off] to reset.
